The Home Improvement Research Institute (HIRI) partnered with IHS Markit to develop the Canadian Size of the Market Estimates & Forecasts study focused on highlighting the country’s economic outlook and its effect on the home improvement products market.
Consumer home improvement product sales represent two-thirds of a rapidly growing overall market. Professional home improvement products sales — which make up just under a third of the overall market — have also experienced significant growth but are expected to slow in 2019.
Total home improvement products sales are expected to increase 5.5% in 2018 to $420 billion in total sales.
