- Schedule a Consultation – First, you can meet with Dave King, HIRI’s Executive Director, to discuss your company’s goals and determine how HIRI’s research aligns with your objectives. Book a Meeting.
- Get Approval to Join – After your conversation with Dave, it's simply a matter of securing internal approval, signing the HIRI membership agreement, and making the first payment.
- Complete Onboarding – Then you're officially a member! We will ask you to provide a list of all users at your company so we can get them access. Our team will then host an onboarding call with you to introduce you and your team to the research portal and resources.

The Home Improvement Research Institute (HIRI) provides two key reports to help members track changes in current home improvement projects and activity: the Quarterly Homeowner Project Activity Tracker and the Quarterly Contractor Business Sentiment Tracker. These two trackers provide quarter-over-quarter insights into what types of projects homeowner and contractors are completing, as well as their intentions for future home improvement activities. They also can help HIRI's members understand the reasons why homeowners did not undertake home improvement activities in the last 90 days and the challenges facing contractor at different phases of the project pipeline. Because they are updated on a quarterly basis, you can monitor shifts in project behaviors and respond accordingly. The Home Improvement Research Institute offers annual corporate membership and does not offer monthly terms. Members of HIRI pay annual dues to have on-demand access to $1 million worth of exclusive research and insights for the next 12 months.
HIRI operates as a nonprofit, member-driven organization, which means every dollar of membership is combined in order to fund the research that is conducted for all members to then access.
At this time, membership dues are standard across members, meaning pricing does not vary by company size or number of users, and it represents a fraction of the total research value provided.
To join the Home Improvement Research Institute (HIRI) as a member, you can schedule a consultation to learn more. During this consultation, you will meet with Executive Director Dave King to determine if HIRI’s research aligns with your objectives.
