Inaugural Contractor Sentiment Study Released

April 10th marked the initial release of the Contractor Sentiment Study/HomeAdvisor Farnsworth Index, a new quarterly study taking a look at the business confidence of contractors now and in the future, as well as rotating topics important to contractors.


The release is split into two parts, the HomeAdvisor Farnsworth Index, a broad public release of contractors’ opinion of current business conditions, and the Contractor Sentiment Study, a HIRI member-only release of contractors’ take on home improvement technology and business lead generation. HomeAdvisor Creates The HomeAdvisor Farnsworth Index in Partnership with The Farnsworth Group

Index Tracks Professionals’ Insights into the Home Improvement Industry


GOLDEN, Colo., April 10 – HomeAdvisor, an IAC (NASDAQ: IAC) company and the operator of the largest home services marketplace across the globe, announced today it has entered into a partnership with the Farnsworth Group, an industry leading market research firm, to create The HomeAdvisor Farnsworth Index. The index serves as the definitive monitor in the home improvement industry, tracking business confidence across 13 business categories, including remodelers, carpenters, painters, plumbers and roofers.

The HomeAdvisor Farnsworth Index is based on a quarterly survey conducted among thousands of trade professionals and provides insights on new business leads and inquiries, volume and quality of job backlog, labor availability and costs, government and regulatory climate and the economy.
