Swealtering heat was not the only thing July brought us this summer, it also brought out the release of Houzz's quarterly U.S. Houzz Renovation Barometer. Released the first month of every quarter, the Renovation Barometer brings the analysis of responses from Houzz's national U.S. panel of architects, interior designers, general contractors/remodelers, design-build firms, and building/renovation and landscape/outdoor specialties, asking professionals to indicate whether certain business activities increased, decreased, or stayed about the same in a given quarter.
Many of the key findings from this quarter closely mirror what some of our own findings stemming from consumers, as opposed to professionals. In particluar, Houzz comments on an uptick in activity among Gen Xers this year, which is something we mentioned a couple months ago from our Project Sentiment Tracking Study for Q2.
Houzz also comments on increase in popularity of kitchen and bath remodel. In HIRI's upcoming Product Purchase Tracking Study, we are seeing similar findings, showing an increase of six percentage points in kitchen and bath remodel incidence.
