Seven of Ten Americans believe smart homes will be common in 10 years

According to a survey conducted by by TNS for Intel this year, 68% of Americans are confident smart homes will be common within 10 years.  Although Americans are confidence about the technology that will be available for their homes they want these devices to be:

  • Bundled with other services (i.e. cable and internet)
  • They would rather lease devices from a trusted service provider than install themselves
  • Devices need to be simple to setup and managed from one central point
  • Most importantly they require these devices to be very secure
